The giant squid is one of the many creatures that lurk in the lake outside Hogwarts castle, where it can often be found lazing in the lake’s shallows. Despite its imposing size, the giant squid is one of the friendlier magical creatures, acting as a lifeguard for Hogwarts students and playing games with them – it especially likes being tickled by Lee Jordan and the Weasley twins.
